Primary School PE and Sport Funding

The government have pledged Primary schools in England a share of £150m per year to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport until 2020.

We have already started buying new resources and equipment to improve the provision of PE and sport at Moorside. We will also be looking to hire specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches, to work alongside teachers when teaching PE. This will give the children the benefit of specialist coaching, whilst developing the teacher’s skills in delivering PE.

We hope through this careful planning and implementation we will facilitate prolonged and continued involvement in physical activity for all pupils, current and future, here at Moorside.

Framework

SPIRALPE™ is an online platform, helping schools across the UK to identify interventions, track progress and celebrate their successes without increasing their workload.

At the very heart of the SPIRALPE™ platform is a primary curriculum that has been designed to engage pupils, support teachers and provide school leaders with the tools they need to report on the effectiveness of PE and the impact of their PE Premium activity.

It has been developed over the last 10 years through a close collaboration of many education, academic, sports and physical activity professionals to combine the theory with the practical.
