Strike Action

18 January 2023 (by schooladmin)

 Wednesday 18th January 2023

 Dear Parent/Carer,

You may be aware from media coverage that the NEU Union have declared strike action, which will take place on the following dates:

  • 1/2/23
  • 28/2/23
  • 15/3/23 & 16/3/23.

The strike is happening because of a national dispute between the unions and the government over fully funded teachers’ pay and not because of any issues at our school.

I’m getting in touch to give you as much notice as possible that learning may be disrupted on these dates. We are in the process of communicating with staff to gain a full understanding as to how school or individual classes may be impacted.

I’m sorry about the potential disruption to you and to your child’s education. I understand that this situation may be frustrating and ask that all members of our school community continue to treat each other with respect. Moorside Community Primary School remains committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our pupils and delivering high-quality teaching.

We are working closely with our staff union representatives to keep up to date with the situation, and I will inform you of the final arrangements as soon as possible.

I will write again at the beginning of next week when we have a firmer understanding of how staffing will be impacted to update parents and carers on the individual school position.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs Higgs at via the school office.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs. H. Higgs
