Dear Parent/Carer,

Last week I wrote to you to inform you of possible industrial action on the 1^st February 2023 from the members of the NEU teaching union.

I’m getting in touch to confirm that Moorside Community Primary will be open on 1^st February. Please send your child in as normal.

In order to enable all classes to remain open, it may be that some classes will be engaged in activities that are different to their usual timetable.

The strike is happening because of a national dispute between the unions and the government over fully funded teachers’ pay and not because of any issues at our school. We are fortunate to have so many brilliant, and hard-working, teachers within our schools, who deliver an excellent educational experience to our children. We know they do not undertake this industrial action lightly, and we request that all members of our school community continue to treat one another with respect.

We will continue to review our arrangements regarding the other planned strike dates and send out communication in due course.
