Transition Day Information 202527 June 2025 (by schooladmin) |
Transition arrangements:
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are looking forward to holding a transition day on Monday 7th July so that children can experience a day in their new class with their new teacher and support staff.
New Staff:
We are delighted to be welcoming 2 new teachers to Moorside, Mrs Carruthers and Mrs Fawcett-Gibson. In addition, we are also welcoming several members of support staff, Miss Farrell, Miss Solan, Miss Saghir and Miss Farrar, who we are excited to welcome to Moorside.
Leaving staff:
Sadly, we will be saying goodbye to Mrs Armitage and Miss Ali at the end of this year. We wish them all the very best for the future.
We are very excited to be expanding our Hive provision to create a KS2 Hive.
Transition Day:
Our transition day is due to take place on Monday 7th July.
The pupils will come to their classes as usual to register and after assembly the children will move to their new classes for the rest of the day. Children will return to their original classes at the end of the day, so should be collected from the usual locations (see below for pupils moving from Y5 to Y6).
Children from Year 5 who are moving into year 6, will remain in year 6 for the remainder of the academic year. They will leave school from the main exit at the back of school.
The focus for the Transition Day is ‘What makes me unique?”; children and their teachers will learn about their differences and similarities so they can get to know each other and celebrate the diversity of each class, including their hobbies, interests, heritage, likes and dislikes.
The teachers and children will continue this theme in September when they return to school.
Each year group will also have a transition booklet which will be sent home and also be available on Seesaw for the children to share at home.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs. H. Higgs
Headteacher
